A 3D human whole-body model with integrated organs vasculature musculoskeletal and nervous systems for mapping nerves

3D human whole-body model

Summary:

The 3D whole body is not only an extremely complex, multiscale organism, it is also the primary purpose of my work at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI). At the base of this model is the human whole-body scaffold which is the canvas (or the system of coordinates, if you want to be precise) upon which we embed all the mayor organs, muscles, nerves, and blood vessels of the human body. This 3D model represents an enormous amount of work from a lot of different groups inside the SPARC project over many years, and I am very grateful to be its latest steward.
